Common Obstacles to Entrepreneur Profit (http://4steps2.com)
Business is based on principles. Your business should be based on the principles that make up your philosophy – both business and life. No, this is not esoteric, and I am not going new age on you, but I am reminding you that if your business is not aligned with your life and what you seek – how much fun could it possibly be?
Entrepreneur profit – that’s ultimately why we are in business. We have to focus on bringing in more cash than we pay out and controlling business expenses. If we do not do that we will not be able to help others with our business.
But that’s just the beginning. You have to focus on staying the course and keeping your business focused. What is your business customer focus? You have to work hard to make sure that you offer your customers value. Value is critical because that is what your customers pay for.
Customer value – when aligned with your business and life philosophy – will make your business profitability goal a reality. If you give your customers what they want (which may be different from what they need) you will reap the rewards.
Customers, whether business or consumers, are people. They basically want the same things that you do out of life. They want to be happy. They want less complexities in their life. They want to save time and they want to save or make money. Help them! Do you save them time or money? How do you make their life easier or happier?
Once you have found that magic formula that makes your customers sing and your business rock, you will have to set up systems to make this process repeat itself. Setting up systems is a critical, but usually overlooked step in startups and small businesses. You can build a good business without developing good systems, but you cannot build a great business without developing great systems.
Systems are the framework that ultimately hold your business up. As your business grows, systems become an integral part of its foundation. A solid foundation is just as important to your growing business as it is to a skyscraper in Manhattan.
You can neglect your business systems – at your own peril. Neglecting the systems in your business means that you are sentencing your future to uncertainty and chaos. Systems make entrepreneurship easier. They allow us to act on our principles rather than react to our immediate circumstances.
There are many obstacles that can block entrepreneur profit. Unfortunately, as a leader you do not have the option of letting these obstacles keep you from achieving your business profitability goal.
Align your business philosophy with your customer’s wants and develop solid systems to deliver value to them without surprises and you have attained the key to entrepreneur profit.
